Understanding the OT & NT Concerning Yeshua - Pt 2
The following is a response to a Hebrew Israelite (woman) who believes that Yeshua/Jesus is not God. They do not believe the Old Testament/Tanakh (OT) supports it.
Apologist Response page to HIW (Hebrew Israelite Woman – Barbados)
Completed by TTGM – 12.08.2025
The Hebrew Israelite Woman wrote (HIW):
1. God is One and Indivisible
• Deuteronomy 6:4 – “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!”
• This foundational verse (the Shema) emphasizes the oneness of God, with no hint of a trinity or separate divine persons.
• The Hebrew word used for “one” is echad, which denotes singularity, unity, and uniqueness. There is no implication of multiple persons within the Godhead.
TTGM’s Response (TR):
As people (“Hebrews”) that do not believe the New Testament has a divine origin, I will attempt to show you the makeup of the “one” God from the Tanakh.
Let us look how the root word is described using the Strong’s concordance. I would highlight the keywords associated with “echad.”
One – H259 אֶחָד ‘echad (ekh-awd’) adj.
1. (properly) united, i.e. one
2. (as an ordinal) first
[a numeral from H258]
KJV: a, alike, alone, altogether, and, any(-thing), apiece, a certain, (dai-)ly, each (one), + eleven, every, few, first, + highway, a man, once, one, only, other, some, together,
Root(s): H258
Yes, there is one God. He is both represented as one and together/united/altogether.
TTGM asks this question, Is this word speaking of “one” person (together/united/altogether)? No. Read on.
Let us now look at how the SAME word echad (one) is used with what two people BECAME. They shall be one flesh. It is written.
(Gen 2:24 [KJV])
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
One of my first teachers, Dr Walter Martin, describe this word as having composite unity. Meaning, we have a composition but only one. Eg. In one location we have one God, and in another place we have one flesh. Same word one.
LET’s NOW LOOK AT HOW GOD’S COMPOSITION IS MADE UP (Composite Unity).
1. Adam and Eve are one flesh.
2. “Who are the other persons?” in the one God.
The “one” God speaks in the Tanakh. He uses the words, “our,” and “us.” It is written.
Some say that when God used the words, “our image,” He was including angels. However, you only need to look at the following verse, and you would see, it is only God’s image that is used (NOT INCLUDING ANGELS).
(Gen 1:26-27 [KJV])
And God said, Let us make man in OUR image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
—
(Gen 3:22 [KJV])
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of US, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Yes, He is one God, but like the one flesh (Adam & Eve), He exists in a composite form. As you read on, you would be introduced to the son.
OBSERVATION
TTGM observes that teachers of the singular oneness of God do not show the plural meaning of “אֶחָד ‘echad.” Also, they stay away from how the same word is used to demonstrate “one flesh.” If you are going to teach the word, you should teach all of it and not only the parts you support. Concerning being made in “our” image, they say God was including other agents (angels). They do not read the next verse that shows us God was referring to Himself and Him alone. This is either a poor approach to study or dishonesty.
TTGM Concludes – God is one (spirit), as Man is one (flesh). Both God and Man have a plural makeup.

HIW:
2. God is Not a Man
• Numbers 23:19 – “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.”
• This verse distinguishes between God and humans, implying that God does not take on human nature or limitations.
TR:
When those words were written (God is not a man..), God did not become a man as yet. His plan was to become a man at the time of Rome’s reign. It was prophesied in the Tanakh He was going to be born at the appointed time. He came as a child, and it is seen here in the book of Isaiah. You will notice this child called a son was also called MIGHTY GOD. So we have a child/son called the mighty God (God became a man). It is written.
(Isa 9:6 [KJV])
For unto us a child is born (Yeshua), unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
The son is mentioned again here. This time not as mighty God, but as God with us (Immanuel means God with us). It is written.
(Isa 7:14 [KJV])
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
OBSERVATION
TTGM observes, the only reason teachers do not accept the doctrine of God becoming man is because they have rejected the Gospels. The word was God, the word was Yeshua.
(John 1:1 [KJV])
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
TTGM Concludes – God gave the world His son, the one born of a virgin. He was fully God and, being born of a virgin, He was fully man.

HIW:
3. No One Can See God and Live
• Exodus 33:20 – “You cannot see My face, for man shall not see Me and live.”
• The idea that God could walk among people as a man (as Christians claim of Jesus) contradicts the notion that God’s presence is overwhelming and unseeable in human form.
TR:
In item 2, God became a man and as a man He could be seen.

HIW:
4. God Alone Is Savior and There Is No Other
• Isaiah 43:10–11 – “Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior.”
• This passage stresses that YHWH alone is God and Savior—leaving no room for a second divine figure to appear later.
• Isaiah 44:6 – “I am the first and I am the last; apart from Me there is no God.”
TR:
All statements in 4 stated are true. God the Son, the mighty God, came as the savior. His name is Yeshua/son/child/Immanuel/The mighty God/the Word/King….

HIW:
5. The Messiah is a Human Leader, Not God
• In Jewish messianic expectation, the Messiah (Mashiach) is never described as God Himself, but rather as a righteous, human king from the line of David who will:
• Restore the Kingdom of Israel (Ezekiel 37:24–28)
• Rebuild the Temple (Ezekiel 40–48)
• Bring universal peace (Isaiah 2:2–4; Micah 4:1–4)
• Teach and uphold the Torah (Isaiah 42:1–4)
Nowhere in these prophecies is the Messiah portrayed as divine or an object of worship.
TR:
In item 1 and 2, I showed you how the man we call the Messiah was both a Son and God. And yes, as God the son became a human, He became the Messiah in human form.
Here the Son of God is mentioned in the Tanakh – what is His name. You would notice here the one that gathered the wind in His fists has a Son. It is written.
(Prov 30:4 [KJV])
Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?

HIW:
6. Sacrifice for Sin is Not a Human Being
• Leviticus 17:11 – “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls.”
• The atonement system in the Torah involves animal sacrifices, not human beings. The idea of a human (Jesus) dying as an atonement is inconsistent with the Mosaic law.
TR:
Here is where the New Covenant comes into the picture. Under the Old Covenant, it required the blood of animals. Under the New Covenant, it required the blood of ONE human being (not human beings). Here you would see the New Covenant was mentioned in the Tanakh.
(Jer 31:31 [KJV])
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
God gave the New Covenant/Testament at the death and resurection of Yeshua.
(Heb 8:7-8 [KJV])
For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
The First Covenant was ransomed using the blood of animals.
The New Covenant was established and sealed by the blood of our Savior/King/Lord/God/Massiah/Yeshua, who ransomed us from sin and death.
The Gospel – understanding the Covenants | In video explaning the covenants.
OVERVIEW OF THE TWO COVENANTS.
1. The Old Covenant
Given to Israel through Moses at Mount Sinai.
Basis: Obedience to the Law (613 commands, including the Ten Commandments).
Written on tablets of stone (external standard).
Contained blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience (Deuteronomy 28).
Mediated by Moses (Galatians 3:19).
Required animal sacrifices for atonement (Hebrews 10:1–4).
Key Verses:
Exodus 24:7–8 – “And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.”
Deuteronomy 28:1–2 – “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God… all these blessings shall come on thee.”
2. The New Covenant
Given through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Basis: Grace through faith in Christ, not works of the Law.
Established by the shedding of Jesus’ blood — His death was the perfect and final sacrifice for sin.
Written on hearts and minds by the Holy Spirit (internal transformation).
Provides complete forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with God.
Open to all nations, not just Israel.
Mediated by Jesus (Hebrews 8:6).
Key Verses:
Jeremiah 31:31–33 – “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant… I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
Luke 22:20 – “This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.”
Hebrews 9:14–15 – “How much more shall the blood of Christ… purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament…”
Hebrews 9:22 – “Without shedding of blood is no remission.”
Ephesians 2:8–9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Old Covenant | New Covenant |
---|---|
Through Moses | Through Jesus Christ |
Law written on stone tablets | Law written on hearts |
Animal sacrifices (animal blood) | Jesus’ one-time sacrifice (His blood) |
Conditional blessings & curses | Eternal life by grace through faith |
For Israel & Judah | For all nations |
Mediator: Moses | Mediator: Jesus |
OBSERVATION
The two covenants are mentioned in the Tanakh. Moses was the mediator for the first, whereas Yeshua was the mediator for the second.
TTGM Concludes – People that hold to staying in the first covenant must continue with the sacrificing of animals – under law. People that are in the second and new covenant do not have to sacrifice animals anymore – under grace.
Understanding Grace – How is grace applied.

7. God Does Not Change
• Malachi 3:6 – “I the LORD do not change.”
• The idea of God becoming a man would imply a change in essence—from infinite to finite, from spirit to flesh—which this verse seems to reject.
TR:
TTGM never said that God changed. God does not change, but He has a plan, we just need to understand.
1. God is more than one person (use of our/us).
2. God, who holds the winds in His fist, has a Son (His Son’s name is Yeshua/Jesus).
—— —-^^
HIW:
Conclusion:
The nature of God is unchanging, indivisible, and distinct from humanity. The Hebrew Scriptures:
• Make no mention of a divine Son of God who will become flesh,
• Emphasize that God alone is to be worshipped,
• Present the Messiah as a human leader (not divine),
• And reject any implication that God could die or be seen directly.
Therefore, based on the textual and theological framework of the Old Testament, Jesus cannot be God, as this contradicts the identity, nature, and uniqueness of YHWH as presented throughout the Hebrew Scriptures.
I therefore cannot defend that Jesus’s “sacrifice” means anything for our redemption…..
TR:
TTGM showed you the divine nature, the Son of the one that holds the wind in a fist.
I will now show you the divine at work in our day in the Book of Isaiah. In Ish 53, it has peculiar equidistant lettering, that show the names of all the people at the cross in Yeshua’s time (excluding Judas) – Listen to Presentation 3 to Ish 53 (names found – start from time point 6:53) & The divine nature of 7s in the entire Bible Presentation 4 & 5 (Glok AI concluded the Book is divine).
If you get a chance, read Chapter 53 of Isaiah. He speaks about a man found in the New Testament.
TTGM did this response not to change anyone’s mind on what they believe. This was a response shared with the fullness of God’s word. I invite anyone to show TTGM that the LOGIC shared here on this page is in error.
OBSERVATION
TTGM observes whenever equidistant lettering found in the Hebrew Text is brought up, people shut down and try to change the topic. We as students of the word must include everything that is presented to us by the word.
TTGM Concludes – People that do not look at the complete evidence will always fall short of the truth. TTGM waits to be corrected.
