TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL MINISTRY

COMMENTARY

ON

WHAT WE MUST DO TO BE SAVED?

(Acts 16:31 [KJV])
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

We will share what we must do to be saved. It will be explained from the scripture.

Here is God’s SALVATION plan simplified

The scripture says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Yeshua), and thou shalt be saved“. First, we must understand what does “believe” mean in Greek?

Believe = G4100 πιστεύω pisteuo (piy-stev’-ō) v.
1. to trust (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), i.e. credit.
2. (passively) to be convinced.
3. (also) to entrust (especially with one’s spiritual well-being to Christ).
[from G4102]
KJV: believe(-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with

As you can see, believe also means to trust, but trust in what? Trust in what He (Yeshua) said and did. How can you trust someone and do not know what they said or did (He fulfilled the word by what He did)? You must read what Yeshua said/did and then place your trust in him (believe it by faith). To be saved you will receive salvation and it comes with the gift of eternal life.

HOW DO WE GET THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE?
TTGM will let the Master explain with His own words how to gain the gift of eternal life (if we say we follow Him, this is what we should do). You will see that on our part there are two requirements – see understanding the covenants on this pg.

Here a Jew came to Yeshua and asked Him how to gain eternal life (salvation)? The following applies to all of us that ask the same question.

We will first highlight the key verses that Yeshua mentioned (1st requirement). It is written.
(Matt 19:17 [KJV])
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life (eternal life), keep the commandments (1st).

The young man said he kept all from his youth. ALL are the commandments found in the Torah (this is a Jew talking to a Jew and they are all required to obey ALL OF THE TORAH all of their life)
(Matt 19:20 [KJV])
The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

Then our Lord said, TO BE PERFECT. Why? Keeping the commandments (Torah/law of God) cannot make you perfect in God’s eyes, because we cannot keep the commandments perfectly (we are born in sin – Ps 51:5). Keeping the commandments of God is the same as saying keeping out of sin (REM: transgression of God’s law/Torah/commandments is sin – 1 Jn 3:4). To be perfect we must love/trust/believe/follow/have faith in Yeshua (2nd requirement). It is written.
(Matt 19:21 [KJV])
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me (2nd).

Sell all that you have is saying to us get the materials out of our life and put Yeshua FIRST. The young man treasured his things more than Yeshua so he walked away. If he had gotten rid of his hindrance (stuff) and followed Christ he would have gained the gift of eternal life (salvation).

The full discourse between the young man and Yeshua can be found at Matt 19:16 and on.

SALVATION:
When you love (follow/trust/have faith in/BELIEVE) Yeshua and keep His commandments (law/Torah/obediance to His word), He will tell (pray) the Father to give you the comforter (Holy Spirit). When you get the Comforter, He will be with you forever. It is the Comforter that will raise you from the dead. When you are given the Comforter, you are known by God. It is written.
(John 14:15-16 [KJV])
If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

LOVE YESHUA AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS (REPENT AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS) AND YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE COMFORTER. READ THE SCRIPTURE AND LEARN THE WORD OF GOD, STUDYING IT TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED UNTO GOD. It is written.
(2Tim 2:15 [KJV])
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Here are the two requirements that the saints have. It is written.
(Rev 14:12 [KJV])
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God (1st), and the faith of Jesus (2nd).

When you follow the commandments, in your obedience you will get baptized, rest on the sabbath day, stop eating swine, stop observing pagan days (eg. Christmas is a pagan practice – see presentation 6), love your neighbor as self and love God, keep the feast days as commanded etc. YOU WILL STOP INIQUITY (iniquity means sin or transgression of God’s law). We pray you stop your sin so that you do not hear these words. It is written.
(Matt 7:23 [KJV])
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

In your prayers to God repent (turn from sin as it is outlined in the Torah). When you do your part, He is faithful and He will do His (He will give you the COMFORTER/HOLY SPIRIT). Start to read His word and try your best to understand it (STUDY). Should you need help write us at info@truthgospel.org . We are here for you.

Be blessed in understanding.

In case you hear this from someone.
The Many teach each other that a Christian does not have to keep the Torah. The Torah was for the Jews only (nb. There were no one called Jews when the Torah was given – The Torah was given to ISRAEL)

Let us look at the word “commandments” used by Yeshua and the Apostles in the New Testament.

UNDERSTANDING THE COMMANDMENTS

When Yeshua walked and taught there were no New Testament books. The first epistle was written approximately 32AD and the books (epistles, gospels, acts, revelation) were only put together around 320AD (printed around 1400 AD). The scripture that the hearers had at the time our Lord walked on earth was the Old Testament (ONLY) also known as the Torah or the prophets OR the Law or the prophets. The commandments are contained in the law/Torah (Greek for commandments = ἐντολή entole | Hebrew for commandments = מִצוָה mitsvah).

The Torah is the first five books of the Bible.

When Yeshua spoke He was repeating His own words from the Torah. Why do we say His own words? He is the Word that became flesh. The Word (flesh) spoke from His Word (written).

In the Torah (Old Testament period), Moses wrote the word. It is written.
(Exod 20:6 [KJV])
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments (מִצוָה mitsvah).

In the New Testament period, the Word made Flesh spoke the same words.
(John 14:15 [KJV])
If ye love me, keep my commandments (ἐντολή entole).

Same word commandments = entole = mitsvah

Here are a few more examples that show the Word quoted from the word.

Nb. You may not find the links as easily between what he said in the New Testament period with what is written in the Old Testament in the newer bibles, they are best found using the KJV (Understanding the newer Bibles and how deception has crept in).

SUMMARY:
The commandments (mitsvah/entole) are found in the law of God = Commandments of God = Torah = The Book of Moses = over 500

TTGM says this to the Many. If you say you know (love) Yeshua and DO NOT keep His commandments, you are a liar and the truth is not in you. It is written.
(1John 2:4 [KJV])
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth NOT his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

The structure of the commandments:

Paul tells us not to do away (make void) the law because of Faith (by faith we are saved). He says to establish the law. In Greek, the word “Establish” means to CONTINUE. In fact, he follows up with God forbid to do such (God forbid to do away with the law/Torah). It is written.
(Rom 3:31 [KJV])
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish (continue) the law.

REM. The commandments are contained in the Law/Torah. Also note, every single one of God’s commandments is based on love. To transgress one against God or your neighbor is to show hate (sin is hate). REM: GOD IS LOVE. It is written.
(1John 4:8 [KJV])
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

The commandments can be broken down into three groups (Primary, General, and Specifics).

Let us show you how they HANG (Matt 22:40).

We have the two great/first commandments (Primary).
1. Love for God
2. Love for your Neighbour and yourself
—- —-
Then we have the 10 commandments (General).
The first four of the ten hang on 1 = Love for God
The last six hang on 2 = Love for your Neighbour and yourself
—- —-
Last, we have the other commandments that hang on either the first four and then the other six – approx 500+ (Specifics).

The 500+ commandments instruct us how to keep the ten. These instructions also tell us what to do if any of the ten are transgressed.

For Example:
General Commandment, one of the ten – Thou Shalt not Steal

Specifics – If you steal the person should return plus additional to what was stolen from the victim etc (there is more, see Exod 22.1).

Christians are told about the general commandments (10) but they do not have a clue about the specifics as to what to do or how to respond. Why? They are not taught. We end up making up our own rules or doing what seems right in our own eyes. Not studying the commandments leads to not understanding in full what sin is and or how to handle it.

Eg. Today some Christians believe God approves of two men getting married (actually men cannot marry each other). Not knowing they transgress this commandment.
(Lev 18:22 [KJV])
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

They work iniquity (Matt 7:23) and will be told to depart from Him (Yeshua/Jesus).

Again, we pray you will be blessed in understanding.
