First, we must understand that sin is the transgression of God’s law and there is no commandment in His law that states having more than one wife is a sin. All the following MEN-OF-GOD had more than one wife, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, and we all know about Solomon. So whenever you hear men say that having more than one wife is sin, they are liars. 

We look at the doctrine that says, “God created one man and one woman, so every man after creation should only have one woman.” These people look at creation but ignore the ORDER of God. What is the order of God? Order comes after creation; to be in order is to keep the commandments of God (in order = righteous living = Holy), NOT keeping God’s commandments is to be out of order, also called sin (out of order = unrighteous living = sin). 

EG.
After a car is made (creation), the first change of oil must be made at 1000km. After creation and the first change of the oil, future oil changes are at 5000km. Do we say then, since the first change is at 1000km,  every other future change must be at 1000km, no, we follow the ORDER as instructed by the makers.

God’s Creation (one man and one woman created):
You will note the verse NEVER said one woman to one man, it said, “male and female created he them”. Also, look at the following that occurred at creation and ask yourself if these items still continue in God’s order.

1. God created a male and a female at creation. All animals were created, male and female.
2. Adam and Eve were both naked in the garden.
3. Brothers and Sisters married each other.

God’s Order:
You will note that God’s order has changed what was found at creation (His commandments have changed all of the above). Remember this, GOD has the authority and the sole right to amend His law/Way.

1. God GIVES wives in His order. It is written.
   (2Sam 12:8 [KJV]) And I (God) GAVE thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.
2. After the man and woman sinned, God’s introduced clothing in His order. It is written.
   (Gen 3:21 [KJV]) Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
3. God no longer permitted marriages between brothers and sisters in His order. It is written.
   (Lev 18:6-9 [KJV]) None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD. 7 The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. 8 The nakedness of thy father’s wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father’s nakedness. 9 The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.

Some of these people state that polygamous marriages have problems. This is true, but you must also confess that monogamous marriages have problems too (look at today’s divorce rate of 60%). IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER: The first monogamous marriage got us where we are today. The first man and woman brought sin into our world. THE PROBLEM is not with the type of marriage, the problem is SIN.  When you remove sin, both monogamous and polygamous live in peace and in order with God. 

People that are anti-multiple wives sound convincing when they speak. However, you only need to ask them to show you the scripture that supports their beliefs, and here is where they fall flat on their face. These same people use statements like, God only permitted this (multiply wives) or God is not in full agreement etc; let us be clear, our Creator God of the universe has ZERO tolerance for sin. A man picked up sticks on Shabbat and he died for it, a woman bit into the fruit and all mankind came crashing down. REMEMBER THIS: The Bible is a legal document and must be looked at through a legal eye. The Bible has a King with a Kingdom, it comes with a law/commandments, and we are its citizens. At the end of this life, we the citizens will be judged according to the law of the Great Book (Bible) – at His judgment seat, for He is our judge. 

Summary:
In law, you must apply your verdict in the spirit of equity. If you hold that first principles apply and you want to ignore the ORDER (His commandments), then you should walk naked and allow your children to marry each other.
