TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL MINISTRY

Can Believers Eat Anything that Moves? (eg. pork/swine)

Pg 1 | Pg 2

The following is a response to someone (Grant) who says to TTGM that believers can eat anything including unclean flesh.

TTGM responded to Grant using questions.

Apologist Response to Grant

Completed by TTGM – 28.09.2024

Grant wrote (GW) the following:
“For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭4

TTGM’s Response (TR) to GW:

Good morning,
Did God’s/Yeshua’s disciples eat unclean flesh?

Look at what Peter said after getting a vision to eat unclean flesh.
Acts 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have NEVER eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

Q1.
If everything is created good, why would Peter say there were things still common and unclean?

—-

Note: The subject is meats in the preceding verse.

1 Timothy 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

God gave us a law. He told us not to eat unclean flesh. Note, He NEVER did at any time call it meat.

Q2
What is the difference between “unclean flesh” and “meat.”
The law says..
Leviticus 11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

Q3
The BIG question is, did Yeshua come to change/destroy the law?
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Q4
What does fulfill mean?

Remember to get your answers from the Bible.

There are 4 questions. Remember what I said. I will just ask questions. Why? So that you will think for yourself.

TR will now answer all the questions:

Q1.
If everything is created good, why would Peter say there were things still common and unclean?

TR to Q1.
Wood was created good, do we eat it? No, it is in a category of substances that we do not eat (some nuts do eat it). The same thing with flesh. We have two categories of flesh. One is called meat, the other is called unclean. Meat is food, unclean we do not eat it. Now let us look at the original (Greek) word for meat and unclean.

REMEMBER UNCLEAN FLESH IS NEVER CALLED MEAT/BROMA IN THE BIBLE

Meat = G1033 βρῶμα broma (ɓrō’-ma) n.
1. food, i.e. that which is chewed.
2. (ceremonially) especially articles allowed or forbidden by the Jewish law.
{literally or figuratively}
[from the base of G977]
KJV: meat, victuals
Root(s): G977

Unclean = G169 ἀκάθαρτος akathartos (a-ka’-thar-tos) adj.
1. impure.
2. (specially) foul, demonic.
3. (ceremonially, morally) lewd.
[from G1 (as a negative particle) and a presumed derivative of G2508 meaning “cleansed”]
KJV: foul, unclean

Two different words, two different categories, one you can eat, the other you are commanded not to eat.

Q2
What is the difference between “unclean (flesh)” and “meat.”

Q3
The BIG question is, did Yeshua come to change/destroy the law?

TR to Q3.
Yeshua said it clearly, He did not come to destroy/change/abolish the law, He came to fulfill the law. Many do not understand what fulfilling the law means. Go read here to understand what is meant by fulfilling the law.
