TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL MINISTRY

COMMENTARY

ON

DOES THE TRINITY EXIST IN SCRIPTURE

(1John 5:7 [KJV])
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one

Many say that there is only one God and that Yeshua never said He was God. TTGM will show from scripture how God reveals Himself to us.

This is an important topic as we all should know the nature of God as revealed to us in His word. We always welcome your correction and you can write to us at info@truthgospel.org; we will be happy to answer your questions should you disagree with the following. To start, we do not use the word Trinity, but rather we say, God has revealed Himself in three persons. We do not know what more will be revealed on His return. Watch this also.

God has revealed himself?
Yes, God has revealed himself and we have chosen not to box Him into a doctrine called the “Trinity”. Why we do this? God is far beyond our thoughts, understanding and imagination and we believe there will be more of Him He will reveal to us that we still do not know. We the created beings that exist in time and space have finite minds when compared to our God who exist outside of time and space with an infinite mind. We have come to this conclusion based on the following scripture. It is written (Read slowly).
(Isa 55:8-9 [KJV])
For my (God) thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

THE NATURE OF “ONE” IN THE HEBREW LANGUAGE.
First we must point out the meaning of the word ONE as used in scripture. In the following verses, the word one in the Hebrew can represent a plural group; also called a composite unity.

(Deut 6:4 [KJV])-  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is “one” LORD:

(Gen 2:24 [KJV]) – Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be “one” flesh.

The word for “one” in Hebrew is: H259 אֶחָד ‘echad (ech-awd’) adj.

  1. (properly) united, i.e. one. 2. (asan ordinal) first.

[a numeral from H258]

KJV: a, alike, alone, altogether, and, any(-thing), apiece, a certain, (dai-)ly, each (one), + eleven, every, “few, first, + highway, a man, once, one, only, other, “some”, “together

Nb: It carries these meanings – together, few, some.

GOD USES THE PERSONAL PRONOUN “US”.
Notice here God describes Himself in using the personal pronoun “us” (plural)

(Gen 3:22 [KJV]) – And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of “us”, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

(Gen 11:7 [KJV]) – Go to, let “us” go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

(Isa 6:8 [KJV]) – Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for “us“? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

— — —-

THE LORD AND THE LORD.
Now let us look at who rained down fire from heaven? Notice, the Lord from the Lord (remember the word “us”)…

(Gen 19:24 [KJV]) – Then the “LORD” rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire “from” the “LORD” out of heaven;

Who sat on the right hand of our Lord? Again, remember the word “us

(Ps 110:1 [KJV]) – A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

THE FATHER IS GOD.
Most agree that the Father is God.

— — —-

THE SON IS GOD.
Now what does the scripture say about Yeshua the Son? The scripture calls Him God.

(John 1:1 [KJV]) – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and “the Word was “God”.

Here we have God appearing in flesh (Yeshua) to His world.

(1Tim 3:16 [KJV]) – And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: “God was manifest in the flesh”, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

(Phil 2:5-7 [KJV]) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

THE HOLY GHOST IS GOD.
Here we have the Holy Ghost identified as the comforter and God. And the Holy Ghost has a subject pronoun “He” (representing a person)

(John 14:16 [KJV]) – And I (Yeshua,  God the Son) will pray the Father (God the Father), and he (the Father) shall give you “another Comforter”, that “he” (“He” the comforter is the Holy Ghost) may abide with you for ever;

Here the Holy Ghost is again referred to as the comforter, bringing comfort:

(Acts 9:31 [KJV]) – Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the “comfort” of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

THE HOLY GHOST WAS LIED TO.
Look at the context in the following verses; the Holy Ghost was lied to (the Comforter that was sent by the Father at Yeshua’s request – Jn14:16). Look at what He was called. He was called God.

(Acts 5:3-4 [KJV]) – But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to “lie to the Holy Ghost”, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, “but unto God.

THE USE OF THIRD-PERSON PRONOUNS.
Here we have Yeshua outlining how salvation works. He speaks about us loving Him (Son = God); and if we love Him and keep His commandments, He will pray (talk) to the Father (Father = God) to ask that we be given another comforter (Holy Ghost = God). It is written.

(John 14:15-16 [KJV])
If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I (God the Son) will pray the Father (God the Father), and he (Father) shall give you another Comforter (God the Holy Ghost), that he (Holy Ghost = Comforter) may abide with you for ever;

SUMMARY: We have one God (as we have one flesh with two persons – Adam & Eve), but God has revealed Himself to us in three persons.

CONCLUSION:

Adam the flesh (with a will) + Eve the flesh (with a will) = Is ONE (echad) flesh

God the Father (with a will) + God the Son (with a will) + God the Holy Spirit (with a will) = Is ONE (echad) God

End.

IMPORTANT

Some would say that the translation of certain text referencing Yeshua to being God did not exist in older manuscripts, suggesting that the deity of Yeshua (eg. God became flesh) was added later. To this we respond; VISIT HERE and watch presentation 2 that outlines the corruption of the Biblical text.
