Adultery and Fornication
(Gen 16:3 [KJV])
And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.
On this page we will show you how the words adultery and fornication are defined in the Bible. The enemy of our soul over time has changed the meanings of these words in order to carry out his deception. A deceived people are lost to the truth. This page is for them that want to serve our King in spirit and in truth. If you want to live in the lies, there is no need to read on.
ADULTERY
We will first show you what adultery is not.
We are told that if a married man becomes one flesh with an unmarried woman it is the sin of adultery. This is a lie. Read on.
If a married man with a wife takes another woman that is unmarried she becomes his wife (not adultery). We will show you two examples from scripture.
Here we have the married man Abraham with his first wife Sarah, being given an unmarried woman (Hagar) and she becomes his second wife.
(Gen 16:3 [KJV])
And Sarai Abram’s WIFE took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his WIFE (2nd).
Here we have Jacob being given an unmarried woman. No adultery here, the woman Bilhah becomes his other wife.
(Gen 30:2-4 [KJV])
And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel (WIFE): and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb? 3 And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her. 4 And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to WIFE: and Jacob went in unto her.
When is there Adultery?
Adultery can only occur if the woman is already married to another man (David and Bathsheba – David was judged by God for this sin). Adultery depends ONLY on the status of the woman. If the woman is a free woman there is no adultery. A free woman is either a virgin, widow, or divorced (Under the New Covenant a married woman that believes is commanded not to divorce her husband – 1Cor 7:11). A free woman (a believer) is also one that has an unbelieving husband that puts her away; she is not under bondage to an unbelieving husband that rejects her – 1Cor 17:15). This also applies to a man that has an unbelieving wife that puts him away.
Here is Strong’s concordance definition of adultery. You will notice it only speaks to a “woman breaking wedlock.” The men in the above scriptures could not break wedlock by going into an unmarried woman. In every instance (Bible), if a married man takes a second, third, or fourth unmarried woman, she is ALWAYS called a WIFE.
Adultery = H5003 נָאַף na’aph (naw-af’) v.
1. to commit adultery.
2. (figuratively) to apostatize.
[a primitive root]
KJV: adulterer(-ess), commit(-ing) adultery, woman that breaketh wedlock.
When was the definition changed?
In the year 1563, the ratification of a greco-roman law (satan) was imposed on believers at the threat of their lives. Here is the law of rome that called concubinage sin. – Decree Concerning The “Reform” Of Matrimony
FORNICATION
Now, we will first show you what fornication is not.
We are told that if two unmarried people become one flesh without being “married” by someone with a state’s license, they are committing the sin of fornication. This is a lie. Read on.
Here we have an unmarried Isaac becoming one flesh with an unmarried Rebekah and she becomes his wife (not fornication). In every instance (Bible), if an unmarried man takes an unmarried woman, she is ALWAYS called a WIFE.
(Gen 24:67 [KJV])
And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and took (Gamo) Rebekah (Isaac became one flesh with Rebekah), and she became his WIFE (Gamos); and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.
Here we look at what fornication is in the Strong’s concordance. You will notice that the Hebrew word for whoredom is the same word translated for fornication.
Eg 1.
(Lev 19:29 [KJV])
Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
Eg 2.
(Isa 23:17 [KJV])
And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
Woredom/Fornication = H2181 זָנָה zanah (zaw-naw’) v.
1. to commit adultery (usually of the female).
2. (less often) to commit fornication.
3. (rarely) to commit rape.
4. (figuratively) to commit idolatry (the Jewish people being regarded as the spouse of Yahweh).
[a primitive root (highly-fed and therefore wanton)]
KJV: (cause to) commit fornication, X continually, X great, (be an, play the) harlot, (cause to be, play the) whore, (commit, fall to) whoredom, (cause to) go a-whoring, whorish.
When is there fornication?
When a married or unmarried man becomes one flesh with an unmarried woman WITHOUT a commitment/covenant/agreement to stay together, this is fornication. This is an unrighteous union between the two. Note: human intercourse with animals is called confusion (תֶּבֶל tebel ), not fornication (זָנָה zanah) – Lev 20:23. Fornication occurs when a man involves himself with a prostitute and or harlot (whores have no owner/head). Read what Paul says.
(1Cor 6:15-18 [KJV])
Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
We end with this. The world of Christianity has been deceived and they live in sin without knowing it. Most people when exposed to the truth reject it because they love the sin, and with everyone else going along with it, they stay in it to their demise. We leave you with these words from our King on His return…
(Mark 8:38 [KJV])
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
God did not change His law and as He sees it, there is plenty of adultery going around.
Be blessed in understanding.
