MEDITATION, THE WAY TO GOD?

Mysticism – belief that union with or absorption into the Deity or the absolute, or the spiritual apprehension of knowledge inaccessible to the intellect, may be attained through contemplation and self-surrender (meditation included).

TTGM received the following document from a church member in an email. Look at it and look at the following questions - HERE

What am I looking at? (document link)

An invitation to partake in “Mysticism”(by way of meditatoin). The practice of an action to bring you closer to “god”. This particular organization is called the Contemplative Life Foundation. We explain more about them later down in this document as we examine their symbol.

(Jer 10:2 [KJV])
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

What is it trying to teach?

Meditation at sunrise with a “new” way to pray and in doing so you will get closer to “god”.

Here is the email comment from the unsuspecting sender of the email, “I told <name suppressed> that <name suppressed> did introduce us to meditation at our last sunrise prayer meeting at <location suppressed> but that I am not aware that anyone has followed up since.  As I do meditate, I did receive the email invitation to the Sunday sunrise session recently and I will forward it to you right after completing this email”.  After receipt of this email, TTGM embarked on preparing this short research paper.

What is wrong with meditation, did not Yeshua (Jesus) mediate?

Yes, Yeshua’s mediated on the law, precepts and goodness of God (His work). The form of meditation as described by the writer of the email is rooted in the occult. Any form of mediation that is not based on scripture has a pagan origin (not prescribed by Biblical truth). Again, Yeshua (Jesus) never practiced the type of meditation that is prescribed by the nations; such as eastern or western mysticism (first it was an eastern teaching and now it has been embraced by the west). The Lord’s way of meditating NOTHING to do with, sunrise, connecting with the infinite, observation of breath, raising our inner vibration and that of the world (we are in the world, but not of it) and yes “peace”, but not the peace as described in the noted document. TRUE Peace comes from the indwelling of the Holy Ghost as He fills the believer by faith in Yeshua. He (Spirit) is the comforter that was sent by our Savior for the believer.

This is what Yeshua did; consider the following scriptures.

(Ps 1:1-2 [KJV]) – His Law
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his
law doth he meditate day and night (not only at sunrise).

(Ps 119:15 [KJV]) – His precepts
I will meditate in thy
precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

(Ps 77:12 [KJV]) – His Goodness
I will meditate also of
all thy work, and talk of thy doings.

(Ps 19:14 [KJV]) – The world’s way of meditation via mysticism is NOT acceptable to the Lord
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Now let us examine the symbol that represents the Contemplative Life Foundation (CLF)

Anyone that knows about lodges would know about the importance of symbols. There are two images that we will draw your attention to in the symbol that was adopted by the CLF.

The First symbol – Ankh

The ankh (/ˈæŋk/ or /ˈɑːŋk/; Egyptian ˁnḫ), also known as crux ansata (the Latin for "cross with a handle") is an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic ideograph symbolizing "life".

The Egyptian gods are often portrayed carrying it by its loop, or bearing one in each hand, arms crossed over their chest. The ankh appears in hand or in proximity of almost every deity in the Egyptian pantheon (including Pharaohs).

The ankh symbol was so prevalent that it has been found in digs as far as Mesopotamia and Persia, and even on the seal of the biblical king Hezekiah….

…The ankh appears frequently in Egyptian tomb paintings and other art, often at the fingertips of a god or goddess in images that represent the deities of the afterlife conferring the gift of life on the dead person's mummy;

The symbol became popular in New Age mysticism in the 1960s.

TTGM: This is a pagan symbol that the God of the Bible has no part of. Read more about this symbol for further information - HERE.

The second symbol that can be seen - Yin and yang

In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang (陰陽 yīnyáng, lit. "dark-bright", "negative-positive") describe how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. Many tangible dualities (such as light and dark, fire and water, expanding and contracting) are thought of as physical manifestations of the duality symbolized by yin and yang.

….Duality is found in many belief systems, but Yin and Yang are parts of a Oneness that is also equated with the Tao.

Tao has its roots in Taoism:
Taoism (/ˈdaʊɪzəm/ or /ˈtaʊɪzəm/), also known as Daoism, is a religious or philosophical tradition of Chinese origin which emphasizes living in harmony with the Tao (
, literally "Way", also romanized as Dao).

TTGM: This is a pagan symbol that the God of the Bible has no part of. Read more about this symbol for further information - HERE.

TTGM Summary:

We encourage you to stay with scripture as your final authority. All the answers that you need can be found in the book of books (Bible). In the Bible you will find God’s way to getting closer to Him through Christ our Lord.  Pagan religious systems do not have the way; they are lost and only feed further deception that comes only from the enemy of our soul.

(1Tim 4:1 [KJV])
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Let us as believers in Christ not depart from our faith that is found in the scripture, in Him that is the TRUE LIGHT of the world.
