ON
WHERE DO BABIES GO WHEN THEY DIE?
(2Sam 12:23 [KJV])
But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
Do babies and children go to heaven if they die?
On Babies going to be with the Lord:
In the following verse, we have David fasting so that God heals the child that was dying. After the child dies David makes an interesting statement, “can I bring him back”, and then “I shall go to him”. Wherever the child was David knew that someday he (David) will join him.

But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

On Children going to be with the Lord:
In the following verses, we see that children as they grow older are prime candidates to be with the Lord. Our Lord also made a conditional statement about belief in him as a condition for children to be in the kingdom (Matt18:6).

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
(Matt 18:6 [KJV])
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me (condition = the child must believe), it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
(Matt 19:14 [KJV])
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
TTGM: We believe based on the statement that David made that babies are in the Lord’s care after they die. Why? David knew where he was going after he died (in the Lord’s care). As for children, this is our observation. Children are inherently humble in the early stages of life; they accept everything they are told by their “loving” parents. However, when they experience lies, deceit, hatred, uncaring actions towards them; their power of discernment kicks in (woefully undeveloped at this stage). This power to discern is for the lack of a better word a protection mechanism. How can I trust what these adults (parents) are saying or doing to me (hurt)? From this comes choice. The child that chooses Christ and can discern (from an early age) what is right and what is wrong, God saves (if he chooses Christ). This is why it is so important that believers in the Lord take the earliest opportunity in their child’s development to train up the little one in the way it should go. Yes, teach too the lies and deceit that is in the world before he/she is exposed to it. This will aid in the development (at an early stage) in the child’s ability to discern what is, from what is not. What we should teach our children? The commandments of God.
To parents that believe, we end with this for your Children:

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
