COMMENTARY

ON

THE 10 DAYS

(Leviticus 25:9 [KJV])
Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

THE JUBILEE YEAR 2025 HAS A LAST TRUMPET BLOWING ON THE TENTH DAY. HERE WE EXPLAIN WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM BELIEVERS ON THIS DAY (Oct 17, 2025).

Return to the Last Trump

HOW DID WE GET HERE TO THE 10 DAYS?

We started with the Gregorian calendar, September 23-24, 2025. After this date, we found we were still here on the planet, so this led to us finding out about calendar errors and, more importantly, the new moon being a full moon (not a sliver). So everything was set for the Julian calendar, September 23-24, 2025. Again, after this second date, we found we were still here.

TTGM/Bajan Eagle asked himself, was it the last trumpet? No, it was not, and not in a jubilee year (two days of blowing). In a jubilee year there is a blowing of the trumpet on the 10th day (Oct 17). Calendar dates did not matter since it was known that the Feast of Trumpets started on the full moon (Oct 7). Man can change calendar dates, but he cannot change the position of the moon.

THEN ENTERED THE ENOCH CALENDAR. Now we call Oct 17 a high watch. On the Enoch Calendar, September 23-24 (Oct 16-17- Gregorian calendar), we watch again for the coming of our King. This is called a third watch.

So after ...
Gregorian calendar – September 23-24, 2025
Julian calendar –  September 23-24, 2025
Enoch Calendar – September 23-24, 2025

If you step back and look at this short story, you may see the greater hand at work. If you missed it, Enoch Calendar 23-24, 2025, just happens to fall directly on where the tenth day lands (from full moon)

EXPLAINING HOW TO KEEP THE 10TH DAY in the seventh month (September).

Oct 17, 2025, is a day of rest (sabbath).

(Lev 23:26-32 [KJV])
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God. 29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. 30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. 31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

1. Meaning of Atonement

Atonement in Hebrew is “kippur” (כִּפֻּר), from the root “kaphar” (כָּפַר), which means to cover, purge, reconcile, or make propitiation.

In the Old Covenant/Testament context:

It referred to the covering or cleansing of sin through the shedding of blood.

The high priest would enter the Holy of Holies once a year (see Leviticus 16) to sprinkle the blood of the sacrifice upon the mercy seat, symbolizing reconciliation between God and His people.

So, “to make an atonement” means to make a covering for sin so that the sinner might stand in right relationship before a holy God.

Supporting Verse:

(Leviticus 17:11 [KJV])
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

In the New Covenant/Testament context:

This foreshadowed Yeshua the Messiah, whose blood provides the final and perfect atonement once and for all:

(Hebrews 9:22 [KJV])
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
—

(Hebrews 9:12 [KJV])
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
—

Thus, atonement in Leviticus was a shadow of Messiah’s ultimate sacrifice — when sin would be covered not temporarily, but eternally.

2. Meaning of Afflict Your Souls

The phrase “ye shall afflict your souls” (Leviticus 23:27, 29, 32) is an instruction for the people to humble themselves deeply before God.

The Hebrew word translated “afflict” is ‘anah (עָנָה), meaning to humble, bow down, deny oneself, or bring oneself low.

This self-affliction is not about physical punishment but spiritual humility and repentance. It represented:

* Fasting (see Psalm 35:13).

* Prayer and confession of sin.

* Turning from wickedness and seeking mercy.

Supporting Verses:

(Psalm 35:13 [KJV])
I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.

(Isaiah 58:5–6 [KJV])
Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? 6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
—

Thus, self-affliction was an act of repentance, self-denial, and humility — acknowledging one’s sins and need for God’s mercy

 Summary

TermHebrewMeaningSpiritual Application
AtonementKippur / KapharTo cover, reconcile, or cleanse from sinFulfilled in Yeshua’s sacrifice (Hebrews 9:12)
Afflict your soulsAnahTo humble oneself, fast, and repentA call to contrition and submission before God

In essence, during the Day of Atonement, the people were to:

Cease from all work. It was a Sabbath of solemn rest.

Humble themselves. Through fasting and repentance.

Reflect on sin and forgiveness. Trusting in the blood sacrifice to cover their sins (the blood of our Lord under the new covenant).

For believers today, it points prophetically to the future national repentance of Israel when they recognize Yeshua as the true Atonement (see Zechariah 12:10 and Romans 11:26–27).
