Is it this Generation?
The following is a response to a friend (Roger) of TTGM who questions if the “this Generation” has not passed already, also, they have seen all the prophecies in that time.

Roger wrote (RW):
If we are going to honestly take Jesus at his word, he definitely gave the time of his second coming and it was in the first century at the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple not the 21st century.
As he told his first century audience, the contemporaries of his generation:
“I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened” (Matt.24:34, NIV).
“I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened” (Mk.13:30, NIV).
“I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened” (Lk.21:32, NIV).
I prefer to take Jesus at his word.
TTGM’s General Response (TR):
Yes, we must take Jesus/Yeshua at His word. We must also take Him in CONTEXT and not out of context as you have done. TTGM will proceed to show you the complete context in which He spoke.
TTGM RESPONDS SPECIFICALLY TO RW’S REMARKS:
RW:
1. …he definitely gave the time of his second coming and it was in the first century at the destruction of Jerusalem
TR:
You said, Yeshua said that His second coming was at the destruction of Jerusalem? Let us look at what He said before He mentioned the words, “this Generation.” Now, at the destruction of Jerusalem, did history record, the sun being darkened, the moon not giving her light, the starts falling from heaven, the shaking of heavenly powers, and let us not forget the sign of the Son of man appearing etc? NO- read on below to see the full menu… Does those days mean 70AD? NO. Why? Becasue all mentioned did not happen.
Matt 24:29-31 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

2. As he told his first century audience, the contemporaries of his generation: “I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened” (Matt.24:34, NIV).
TR
Matt 24, Mk 13, and Lk 21, are all proceeded by the mention of the fig tree. Meaning, these verses all come from the same record in each book. Again, what is common with these verses is the proceeding verse about the fig tree – Read from Matt 24:32.
(Matt 24:32-33 [KJV])
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
TTGM would not go through a lengthy study to show you the link between the fig tree and the nation Israel. What TTGM will show you is the start and end of the nation/fig tree, and the re-birth of Israel the fig tree.
The fig tree’s birth. Started with Abraham, the father.
(Gen 17:5 [KJV])
Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
The fig tree’s end as prophesied by Yeshua. After 70AD the fig tree was no more but eventually the people of Israel was parted across the nations of the world.
(Matt 21:19-20 [KJV])
And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. 20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
The fig tree as mentioned by Yeshua (Matt 24:32), re-birth was in 1948.
This generation in the time of Yeshua was not of that fig tree. This generation was the fig tree of 1948 (20th cen) until now 21st century.

CONCLUSION
Dear Roger,
This fig tree/generation is the one that would see ALL the prophecies that He mentioned. This generation was not the one of their time, but it was this generation of those days that started in 1948. I might add, no other nation in the world but Israel experienced a rebirth in one day.
(Isa 66:8 [KJV])
Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
Factoring the full context, Yeshua was saying that all the prophesies would be seen by the rebirthed Israel.
May you be blessed in understanding.
