(John 14:1-3 [KJV])

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also

Does the believer in Christ go to Heaven after he/she dies?

A brother in the Lord told TTGM that he does not believe that the believer goes to heaven after he dies. This paper came about as a result of this statement. The study is in the form of questions. For TTGM it is a black and white clear cut doctrine. What do we mean? If you can honestly answer the following questions, you will get a clear answer as to where we go when we die.

1.

a. After Yeshua died were did He go?

b. Was the thief with Yeshua wherever he was?

c. Yeshua ascended to meet His Father, where was Yeshua talking about?

(Luke 23:43 [KJV])

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

(John 20:17 [KJV])

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

2.

a. Is Yeshua where the Father is (after He died and was risen)?

b. Where does the Father reside?

(Rom 8:34 [KJV])

Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

3.

a. Where is the altar located that is mentioned in the following verse?

b. Who are the souls referring to that were slain (killed) for the word of God?

c. Was John the Baptist one of those that were slain?

(Rev 6:9 [KJV])

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

4.

a. Paul says to depart (leave earth) is his desire. He also says if he departs he will be with Christ. Where do you think he thought he was going?

(Phil 1:21-23 [KJV])

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

5.

a. Where is Yeshua going that they could not come (at that time)?

b. Where is afterwards can His disciples follow (location)?

(John 13:33 [KJV])

Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.

(John 13:36 [KJV])

Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.

6.

a. Where is Yeshua’s Father’s house?

b. Where is Yeshua?

c. If we are going to be with Him as He said (see above), where will we (believers) be when we are with Him?

(John 14:1-3 [KJV])

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

TTGM: The answer for us is conclusive. The Father is in Heaven, our Lord is in Heaven with the Father, and the slain (and dead) believers are in heaven with their Lord.

7.

a. Where is the Father?

(Matt 6:9 [KJV])

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
