HOW SHOULD THE BELIEVER BAPTIZE NEW CONVERTS?
(Matt 28:19 [KJV])
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
How are we to baptize new converts? Are there two-four instructions, is it one, or is it a splash of water on the forehead? Let us look at what the Bible says. TTGM takes a look and brings clarification to this topic.

What is Baptism?
To be baptized is to be submerged in water. From the concordance, we look at the word baptize and its meaning.
Baptize = G907 βαπτίζω baptizo (bap-tid’-zo) v.
1. to immerse, submerge
2. to make whelmed or soaked (i.e. fully wet)
{used only (in the New Testament) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance of Christian baptism}
[from a derivative of G911]
KJV: Baptist, baptize, wash
When are we to be baptized?
As babies with an undeveloped mind or as an adult with understanding? We look at when Yeshua did His baptism. Why do we look at Yeshua? He is our example. You would notice He was of adult age at His baptism. If you read the Bible, you would also notice that John the Baptist never baptized babies. Read when our King did His Baptism.
(Matt 3:13 [KJV]) – As a grown-up man.
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
When we baptize, which name(s) should we use?
(Matt 28:19 [KJV])
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
OR this way?
(Acts 2:38 [KJV])
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
OR this way?
(Acts 8:16 [KJV])
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
OR this way?
(Acts 10:48 [KJV])
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Again, do we baptize using “in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost”, or “the name of Jesus Christ”, or “the name of Lord Jesus, or “the name of the Lord?“
In the Kingdom how are names used? In whose Authority? – Understanding Authority.
When conducting yourself in a specific practice (eg. casting out demons, baptism, healing, etc), you must be able to state by what/whose “authority” you are doing it. For example, Yeshua was questioned here by what authority was he functioning in. It is written.
(Mark 11:27-33 [KJV])
And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders, 28 And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things? Mark 11:29 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. 30 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me. 31 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him? 32 But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed. 33 And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
We are commanded to do everything (including Baptisium) in the name of the Lord Jesus (Or Jesus Christ). It is written.
(Col 3:17 [KJV])
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
When Paul acted against God’s Children by persecuting them; he acted under the authority of the chief priests. It is written.
(Acts 26:10 [KJV)
Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.
When using the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38), the name Lord Jesus (Acts 8:16), or Lord (Acts 10:48), they were telling the audience by what authority they were acting in.
What does the authority say regarding the action? – What is the Instruction, what is the Word and what is the Deed we do?
What you are going to do depends on the instruction given by the authority (our King). Concerning baptism, this is what the authority (Jesus Christ/Lord Jesus) says. It is written.
(Matt 28:19 [KJV])
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
For them that do not understand how authority and instructions work.
Let’s say you work for a company called Light and Power. The company gives you the job of having to install meters. So you go on the road to install meters on homes. As an employee, you have the authority given to you by the company (Yeshua). You now operate and conduct yourself in the name of the company. In your training, you are given instructions on how the meter should be installed. Jesus Christ/Lord Jesus is the authority and depending on what the work/deed/instruction/action is we follow it.
In Conclusion
We are to do everything in Jesus/Yeshua’s name (Col 3:17) and follow the instructions of the King. BAPTISM: We are to baptize in the name of Jesus Christ/Lord Jesus/Lord (the authority). What is the King’s instruction/commandment concerning Baptism? Under His INSTRUCTION, we should baptize new believers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Do you want to be Baptized, do you understand the Gospel of the Kingdom? If you do understand, register with us to be Baptized.
Be blessed in understanding.
Topical Bible Studies – Which is it? Baptism in the Lord Jesus’ name, the Lord’s name, or Jesus Christ’s name, OR the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit (answer correct)? The narrator says you do not have to say anything (answer incorrect). What then is the purpose of having a baptizer there with you?
TTGM – We believe we should follow all of Yeshua’s commandments. We should believe the disciples followed what the King said. The speaker in the video assumes if it is not written down, you do not have to say anything during the baptism process. He got the name authority correct, however, about what we say during the actual baptism needs to be relooked. The question is, why did the apostle take the convert (Ethiopian Eunuch) into the water, and why must there be a baptizer? The baptizer is there to baptize the convert in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Let us keep the King’s commandments. If we cannot keep His commandments, let grace prevail.
